Many forms contain approximately 10 percent methanol as the additive, rather than other common alternatives such as isopropyl alcohol, denatonium, methyl isobutyl ketone, and acetone.Ĭan I use methylated spirit instead of rubbing alcohol? Is methylated spirit a disinfectant?Ĭhoosing the disinfectant solution The disinfectant used should be one for which the manufacturer claims antiviral activity– meaning it can kill the virus (such as chlorine-based disinfectants, hospital-grade disinfectants, or alcohol solutions with at least 70% alcohol (for example, methylated spirits).Ĭan I use methylated spirit instead of isopropyl alcohol?ĭenatured alcohol, sometimes referred to as methylated spirits, includes specific additives that make it non-drinkable. Other typical additives include isopropyl alcohol (IPA), acetone, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), and methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK). The main additive has traditionally been 10% methanol, giving rise to the term “methylated spirits”. This is because approximately 10% methanol has been added to it, along with additives such as isopropyl alcohol, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, and methyl isobutyl ketone. Is methylated spirit the same as alcohol?Ĭommonly used methylated spirits is a general-purpose alcohol which is not fit for drinking. Really want to shake things up? Combine some of your favorite cocktails together, just like we did with our mimosa margaritas and frozen sangria margaritas. Add in sweet fruit flavors (hello peach and pineapple), spicy kicks (lookin’ at you jalapeño), or create icy, frozen varieties (our frozen strawberry marg is a classic). Once you've got your basic margarita ratio down, you can experiment with all of the flavors and variations you please. While we love all our over the top margarita alternatives, when it comes to the classic, all you need is some lime juice (freshly squeezed please!). We used simple & reliable triple sec in these margaritas, but if you have a preferred Cointreau you’d like to use, feel free to swap it out! Craving something a little less sticky sweet? Try our skinny margarita, which swaps the orange liquor for OJ and agave. More of a mezcal lover? Feel free to swap it out for a smoky, earthy mezcal margarita. Unsure about what type of tequila to use? Blanco tequila is always a solid option, but a good reposado would also be an excellent choice (especially if you’re looking for a smooth, almost caramel-like flavor to turn into a Cadillac margarita). If you’re searching for the perfect tequila for your margarita, there’s no shortage of options. The key to making the best margarita is all in the ratio and balance of the ingredients. Now one of the most popular cocktails in the world, the margarita is thought to have started out as the variation on another prohibition-era drink called the "Daisy." Spanish for "daisy," the marg swapped in tequila for the requisite brandy and lime juice for lemon juice, and a classic was born. All you need are 3 ingredients and 5 minutes to make one for yourself-get those limes out, and let happy hour again! We’ve done our fair share of experimenting with this classic cocktail, but when we’re craving a simple, no frills, refreshing cocktail, this classic recipe is the one we turn to. Here at Delish, we can’t get enough of margaritas. 8/31/2023 0 Comments Park predators merchWhy? For one thing, research suggests they specifically seek out duck nests, rather than finding them opportunistically like most other mammals. Red foxes are an effective predator in the prairie pothole region, particularly for upland-nesting species such as mallards and pintails. Thus, while coyotes can have a negative impact on breeding ducks, the losses are somewhat offset by the coyotes’ displacement of more aggressive nest raiders. While they will eat ducklings, scavenge eggs and kill any hens they manage to catch, they also drive away foxes and other preeminent breeding duck predators. 1 for nesting ducks, given their size and abundance. Many assume that coyotes are public enemy No. Although skunks are primarily an upland nest predator, Delta research has documented that they will occasionally get their feet wet and go after an over-water duck nest as well. Skunks feed most heavily on duck eggs in early spring when food alternatives are scarce. Like raccoons, skunks are foraging animals that delight in encounters with duck nests and occasionally eat ducklings, too. Notably, raccoons are not native to all of the prairie pothole region, and ducks didn’t have to contend with them in prairie Canada until about the 1950s. They’ll eat ducklings, too, although their consumption of eggs is far more detrimental to the fall flight. And happen upon them they do, in their travels along prairie wetland edges, farmland ditches and other places breeding ducks nest. Raccoons generally don’t actively search for duck nests, but they’re happy to eat most or all of a clutch when they happen upon one. Here’s a look at the key predators that impact waterfowl production. And you can imagine the vulnerability of duck eggs to plundering, given their immobility and tasty, nutrient-rich yolks. The threats are even broader for ducklings, which are consumed by practically anything large enough to complete the task, from bullfrogs to herons. When it comes to food-chain hierarchy, ducks are the rabbits of the avian world - essentially every critter with forward-facing eyes wants a bite of them. Delta Waterfowl is on a mission to fill every flyway. 8/31/2023 0 Comments Dark spots on zz plant stemI have kept mine in a cold bathroom over winter before, and it was totally fine, so they can definitely tolerate lower temperatures BUT any sniff of frost will kill them. ZZ plants are from the tropics so they do best in warm temperatures, preferably above 15 oC/60 oF. They won’t die if you ignore them, but they won’t grow either. There’s a bit of a room that ZZ plants are one of those plants that thrive on neglect, but I haven’t found that to be the case. I keep one of my ZZ plants in a self-watering pot and it’s thrived, and I had one in terracotta that was fine but refused to grow until I moved it. Plants that have evolved to deal with drought don’t tend to be, simply because the ones that can utilise any water available to them will be more likely to survive and pass on their genes. Make sure the soil is dry before watering – I like to use a moisture meter.Īs for water quality, they’re not that fussed. ZZ plants are quite easy to overwater – not because they have delicate roots, but because we usually keep them in dark rooms so the water doesn’t get the chance to evaporate. Their tubers store water so you can leave the soil to get bone dry. ZZ plants like to be watered deeply but infrequently. However, I’ve noticed that if you keep them in higher humidity they grow faster and the new growth unfurls faster. ZZ plants are very tolerant of low humidity, which isn’t surprising due to the thickness of the leaves – the only plant I can think of that like high humidity and have thick leaves are Hoya. Oh, and they’re not particularly prone to pests, but mealybugs can be partial to them, so showering them down can be a good way to deter mealies and ensure there aren’t any hiding in the crevices. So the occasional shower is better than never dusting them. I spend a weird amount of my time explaining to people that plants don’t really like getting wet, so showering them regularly isn’t a great idea BUT I make an exception for ZZ plants because they have little leaves that take an AGE to clean. One of the main things that can impede light getting to plants (besides putting it somewhere where there isn’t any) is dust. If you’re condemning your ZZ plant to a dark corner, at least give it a grow bulb. After a while, they get very long and leggy, and can’t support their own weight. There are myths that you can keep ZZ plants in the dark, or in windowless bathrooms, but no plant can survive that for long. However, they come from Tanzania and Zanzibar which experience some drought, so below their thick, glossy foliage they have big tubers that they use to store water. ZZ plants have pretty thick, dark, waxy leaves, which suggests that they occupy a spot on the rainforest floor (which they do). I think it’s funny that people class them as slow growing when actually they grow pretty quickly when given a decent chance.Ī lot of people are under the impression that ZZ plants aren’t closely related to other house plants, because they’re the only plant in their genus, but they’re aroids, like Monstera, peace lilies, Philodendron, and Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma. ZZ plants are one of the most maligned plants in the house plant hobby because they’re one that’s relegated to living in the darkest spots in the house. 8/31/2023 0 Comments Google earth pro for pcThe app used to be sold for an amount that is not cheap, however, Google offered it for free for the past few years It used to be a paid application, but nowadays Google has snupmned this app for many its users you are able to enjoy all of the features provided without the price of a dimeYou may use layers to include or remove features such as roads, images, parks, paths, 3D buildings, and more Multilingual 圆4 Download Google Earth Pro 7.Google Earth Pro Google Earth Pro is a free application that can be utilized to explore, search, find certain locations on earth There are many versions of Google Earth You may use Google Earth on your Chrome browser without the necessity to download any software to your laptop or PC This application works in several display modes as well as satellite imagery However, in order to feel the actual capabilities with this application, you must download Google Earth Pro Employing this application you are able to carry on a digital adventure to see places of interest around the world If you intend to visit a secondary spot but are hesitant with the atmosphere and place, well this application can be a solution for you to review the spot first Multilingual x86 Download Google Earth Pro 7. download linkĭownload Google Earth Pro 7.
